冬寒菜，我国从汉代就开始种植，也叫冬葵，冬苋菜，是我国古代的四大名菜，种植的历史f十分悠久。
著名诗人鲍照写过诗句“连冰上冬月，披雪拾园葵”，其中的“葵”指的就是冬寒菜。从中也能看出，冬寒菜是十分耐寒的。冬寒菜喜欢冷凉气候，生长能力旺盛，适应性强，采收期长。8-25度之间可以种植，直接播种即可。条播或者穴播都可以，株行距大概在13*16厘米左右。
日常管理也非常简单，见干见湿的浇水，长到20多厘米就可以采收嫩尖、侧枝食用，越掐越长，越长越多，长得像小树高，十分高产，可以一直吃到深冬。
